First point of call, of late, is something that bridges the gap between both worlds.

The ‘Marsha Meets…’ podcast sees Xfm DJ (that’s the music bit, I wouldn’t want you to miss it) Marsha Shandur interviews one of the world’s very finest stand-up comedians each week, with each giving interesting and amazing insights into their craft. So far Marsha’s met Richard Herring, Brendon Burns, Kevin Eldon, Isy Sutty, Rich Fulcher, Marcus Brigstocke, Chris Addison, and Milton Jones to name but a few.

This week is the perfect week to start listening, as she speaks to the excellent Jim Jeffries, who’s always a great interviewee (further proof of that here). He talks violent reactions to his jokes, getting away with saying “cunt” in America, and his love of musical theatre.

Now Delphic are fast becoming Manchester’s hottest new property. Their sound is steeped in their home city’s musical history but they’re taking it forwards like no one has managed for quite some time. The single is released through R&S Records on 14 Apr, but the band have recently signed a deal to run their own label, called Chemeric, as a subsidiary of Polydor. They’re signed up to every major social network going and links to all of them are handily provided on their MySpace profile, so you don’t have to stay there too long if you don’t want to.

The latest in an ever-expanding line of great dance acts to come out of Paris, Sexual Earthquake In Kobe come on like Daft Punk jamming with Death From Above 1979. The track to start with is probably ‘Dance And Say Yo’, which Eddy TM has been playing on the Xfm Remix Show of late, and which we’ve therefore been heavily tipping in the CMU Remix Update. It’s funky and hard with some C64-type sounds shoved in for good measure. Taken from the band’s debut EP, ‘Crinière De Lion’ (or ‘Lion’s Mane’ in English), this track is out now via Nukod or, if you prefer, available for streaming on the MySpace.
