It’s not so much that I love their music (although I do), it’s more that I want to see if I can hack it. So many reviews I’ve read, and people I’ve spoken to, have recounted stories of audience members passing out, vomiting or just getting the hell out of there. The Earth-influenced wall of feedback and slow, doomy riffs they create are certainly not for the faint of heart. If you think you can take it, head over to Corsica Studios on Sunday, where they will be performing their ‘Grimm Robes’ album. Or you could hang on for the band’s new album, ‘Monoliths & Dimensions’, which will be released by Southern on 15 May. Right now, though, go and check out their Last.fm profile.

How are you? I just thought I’d take a moment to tell you about Vessels, because they are brilliant. I have written about them many times and in many places before. They released their debut album, ‘White Fields And Open Devices’, last year. You should check it out, it’s a masterful piece of post-rock magic.

You can download the original 17 minute demo version of their track, ‘Wave Those Arms, Airmen’, here. And I would also highly recommend watching the video for their last single, ‘A Hundred Times In Every Direction’, which I’ve posted below.

But most of all, I’d recommend you go and see them live when they head out on their upcoming Rock Sound-sponsored UK tour in April, because that’s where they really are at their very finest. Here are the tour dates:
